OHM Plugin help

Post by nawmtaronyu »

I got most of my OHM sensors working I want to add fan speed but in my OHM info shows fans as:

Desk
-Asus
--Nuv
---Fans
----Fan 1

How do I place this into my rainmeter?

right now my rain meter is setup

[Fan1]
Measure=Plugin
Plugin=Plugins\OpenHardwareMonitorPlugin.dll
Hardware=ASUS P8Z68-V
Type=Fans
Sensor=Fan 1

this setup would work if I did it for my GPU fan, but does not work for my case fans

how do I get the plugin to see into the Nuv layer?

I pretty strongly recommend looking at something other than Open Hardware Monitor (OHM) with Rainmeter. The OHM plugin for Rainmeter is currently not maintained by the author, I suspect it has some issues that have never been resolved. and a lot of folks struggle with the functionality and reliability of it.

There are several other good choices for monitoring hardware sensors with Rainmeter.

HWiNFO:
http://www.hwinfo.com/
HWiNFO plugin for Rainmeter
Information about new version of HWiNFO

SpeedFan:
http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php
SpeedFan plugin for Rainmeter

CoreTemp:
http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/
CoreTemp plugin for Rainmeter

I'm a fan of HWiNFO myself, but any of those are pretty good, depending on what you want to monitor. Some do more than others.

Hi nawmtaronyu,

i'm not a specialist but i got my OpenHardwareMonitorPlugin.dll working under Win7 64bit only with the combination of OHM ver 0.3.2. beta and the 64bit-dll.
I tried other versions of OpenHardwareMonitor (0.4.0., 5.1.4., 0.6.0.) but only 0.3.2. beta works really good. Under C:\...\SysWow64\ (or \System32\) is the "newer" msvcp100.dll.
Both things i will attach in one zip-file here down under (found also in other threads thankfully).
btw:
my configuration of the case fans look like this:

[OHMFanSpeed]
Measure=Plugin
Plugin=Plugins\OpenHardwareMonitorPlugin.dll
Hardware=ITE IT8718F
Type=Fans
Sensor=Fan #1

[OHMFanSpeed2]
Measure=Plugin
Plugin=Plugins\OpenHardwareMonitorPlugin.dll
Hardware=ITE IT8718F
Type=Fans
Sensor=Fan #2

means: you lost only the "#" between Fan and 1 -- it's worth a try...

Hope this works also for you!

Bye

Harry
