You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Hide the desktop icons and create a shortcut to the desktop folder.

Re: desktop files under side/taskbar
wat?
see im saving files to the desktop to get quick access
would be pointless saving anything to the desktop to access it over a seperate window
other ideas ?

Re: desktop files under side/taskbar
That's a well known shortcoming of Rainmeter.
The easiest workaround is to use Fences from stardock (the free version is enough). Then draw some empty fences under your panels and icons won't go there.
Fences has some very nice features all by itself BTW, and unlike most of Stardock desktop customization "bloatware" it's really light on system ressources.

Re: desktop files under side/taskbar
If you set the skin in the top left corner of your screen to "On Desktop" and set "Draggable" to "no", then any icons that are created there when you install an application will sit on top and you can easily move the icon away instead of moving the skin. As far as icons you drop on the desktop yourself for some reason, just don't drop them there. Be sure to turn off "Auto arrange" under "View" on the desktop.

Re: desktop files under side/taskbar
i tried fences but i get constantly an error message that its integrity has been compromised and it shuts down. tried to reinstall 3 times always the same (reboot included).
i tried to set the google config to draggable no and position ondesktop but
1st it appears under the taskbar even thou the taskbar is set to background
and 2nd even then i cant just drag icons away
(auto arrange was off anyway its about newly created icons that get mashed top left no matter what)
what am i doing wrong ?

You can use the suggestion I made in this thread http://rainmeter.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=6969

Did you try re-downloading? Maybe the download was corrupted.weirdo23 wrote:i tried fences but i get constantly an error message that its integrity has been compromised and it shuts down. tried to reinstall 3 times always the same (reboot included).
I've used fences for like 2 years now and never got any significant issues with it.
