I found that the webhelper crashed, and subsequently the plugin crashed.

Webhelper:

Code: Select all

Faulting application name: SpotifyWebHelper.exe, version: 0.9.15.27, time stamp: 0x54803b75
Faulting module name: SpotifyWebHelper.exe, version: 0.9.15.27, time stamp: 0x54803b75
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x000063c3
Faulting process id: 0x3330
Faulting application start time: 0x01d031eaa71ad5db
Faulting application path: C:\Users\snyderna1\AppData\Roaming\Spotify\Data\SpotifyWebHelper.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Users\snyderna1\AppData\Roaming\Spotify\Data\SpotifyWebHelper.exe
Report Id: 3e6c31d5-9de6-11e4-8281-402cf4190c12
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:
and then the same crash from before. I thought it might have been due to an error getting album art, but it crashes midway through a song, so that's probably not it.

Apparently the webhelper crash is fairly common. (https://community.spotify.com/t5/Help-Desktop-Linux-Mac-and/SpotifyWebHelper-continuously-crashing-with-new-update/td-p/997522)

Thanks a lot! I hadnt even considered checking if this was an issue, i just assumed that i had messed up on my end :D. I will update with a new version later today, cause i did more or less a complete redesign, so all the errors cause exceptions and make Rainmeter crash. There isn't really a lot i can do about the webhelper issue tho, other then wait for a Spotify update or just restart it, but I've had some issues with that approach as well.

Thanks again, update later today! :rosegift:

This version has been running for a few hours without issues here! Only uploading 64 bit version for now, and you still need to have the newtonsoft.dll in your rainmeter.exe folder for things to work. 8-)

It's run all day with almost no errors. The only error occurs when closing and re-opening Spotify. It just doesn't update anymore.

No chance you got the actual exception message written down aswell?

Got a good feeling about this!

I think the plugin works as well as Spotify will let it at the moment! You don't need the newtonsoft dll anymore either!
If this runs for a few days with no major issues I will update the first post as well, and maybe look into play/pause/volume/shuffle/repeat.
(Also tried to give some love to the 32-bit users by compiling both this time)
